Originally a Celtic village, Lodi later became an important part of the Roman road network due to its location. Lodi is 25 miles from Milan on the banks of the River Adda and is the capital of the Lodi province in northern Italy. Hiring a car in Lodi means you can retrace the steps of the Romans who built that famous road network, easily reaching the nearby cities of Milan and Cremona. Lombardy is home to quite a few cheese-makers, so it is worth taking a drive out to different tasting events if you get the chance.
