Campobasso was once known as ?Canada Town? or Maple Leaf City?, the reason been during World War 2 the Canadian forces occupied the city and gave it the nickname. Campobasso is renowned for its craftsmanship of blades, the city is also famous for its production of pears and scamorza (cheese). The main attractions are the Castello Monforte and the Cathedral which was the first building in Campobasso.
