Hertz at Berlin

The German capital of Berlin is one of Europe's most vibrant cities, attracting millions of visitors for both leisure and business every year. Famed for sights such as the Brandenburg Gate, the Fernsehturm (TV Tower) and the Reichstag building, Berlin is a thriving city that's full of history as well as modern, progressive developments.

The Olympiastadion, to the west of the city centre, was the venue for both the 1936 Olympic Games and the 2006 FIFA World Cup final. Many visitors also head to the Berlin wall memorial, which provides an insight as to what Berlin was like before its unification.

If you were to hire a car in Berlin, you would find a host of natural parks within very easy reach of the city. The Obere Havelniederung (a special protection area to the north of the city) and Nauen-Brieselang-Krämer are just beyond the city limits and are a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Not far from Berlin is the city of Potsdam, the city the German Kaiser lived in until 1918 and is home to a number of historical monuments including the parks and palaces of Sanssouci.
