Toul is a commune in the north east of France, around 12km to the border of Germany. Sat on the banks of the Moselle, the commune is close to the city of Nancy, a cultural delight to visit, if you rent a car in Toul.
Toul is home to a number of notable Roman landmarks, with the stone fotifications putting the place well and truly on the map. In fact, several of the fortifications, created by Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, are listed as part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The town's cathedral is currently being restored, to bring the gothic architecture back to its former glory.

As well as being situated in some one of France's largest vineyard regions, Toul is also close to the city of Nancy. Here, visitors can see the spectacular Place Stanislas.
The square, built between March 1752 and November 1755, is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to the city hall, the Opéra-Theâtree, the Fine Arts Museum and the Préfecture of Meurthe-et-Moselle.
