Hertz at NXP Crolles Grenoble

Close by to the French Alps and located in the south-east of France is the city of Grenoble. The city is known locally as the Capital of the Alps, due to its proximity to the impressive mountain range. If you choose to hire a car in Grenoble you'll be able to see the many attractions of the city- from the stunning Bastille and Palace of the Parliament of Dauphiné, to the beautiful town squares and many museums. You'll even be able to drive out into the wider region, to explore the Alps, and discover some of the finest views in the whole of France and Europe.

The main highlight of any visit to Grenoble is the Bastille, a collection of historical fortifications which sit atop a small mountain. To get there, you can either take a cable car, (also known locally as Les Bulles), or if you're feeling adventurous, you can walk to the top. Be sure to wander around the Bastille fortress, take in its history and the enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding area. Elsewhere the Museum of Grenoble is increasingly popular with tourists, and boasts an incredible collection of art from across the ages, including some fascinating modern art. Grenoble is a great base if you want to head to the Alps for skiing in the winter; l'Alpe d'Huez is just over an hour away. In summer, Lake Annecy is also recommended for its sensational views and water sports.
