Hertz at Foz Do Iguacu

The city of Foz do Iguacu lies on the border of Brazil and Argentina. It is a popular tourist destinations thanks to the spectacular Iguacu Falls, which stretch for 2.7 kilometres and feature around 27 individual waterfalls. The biggest, known as the devil's Throat, is 7 metres long and 82 metres high.

Hiring a car in Foz do Iguacu is the best way to ensure you can see the falls and enjoy the amazing wildlife that this magnificent World Heritage-designated park has to offer. Attractions include endangered jaguars, giant anteaters, howler monkeys, ocelots, and an abundance of brightly coloured butterflies.

Another local attraction is the Itaipu Dam which, at 7.2 kilometres wide, is the second largest hydro-electric dam in the world. Located on the Parana River on the border between Brazil and Paraguay, this breath-taking example of engineering produces roughly 20% of Brazil's electricity needs.

The city sits on a triple border, at the point where Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina meet. If you rent a car in Foz do Iguacu you can easily explore neighbouring Ciudad de Este in Paraguay via the Ponte da Amizade (Friendship Bridge) or Puerto Iguazu in Argentina by crossing the Ponte da Fraternidade (Fraternity Bridge).
